We have breathtaking views of Skiddaw, Helvellyn and Blencathra and are perfectly located for guests to explore the beauty of The Lake District. Local activities include walking, cycling & climbing to name a few.

Approaching from the East on the A66 some sat nav systems suggest an inappropriate road as the shortest route!
Please make sure to NOT turn off at Threlkeld (B5322 St Johns-in-the-Vale), but continue onto the first exit for Keswick.

Mountain Ranges
Beautiful views of Blencathra, Skiddaw and Helvellyn can be seen from Dalebottom Farm. All are high level walks and not for the faint hearted.
Access to Helvellyn is usually via the car park, approximately 4 miles South on the A591. Access to Blencathra is usually from the pretty village of Threlkeld, just 3 miles away. Skiddaw can be tackled from the car park close to the top of Latrigg or Accessed from Keswick.
Keswick
Situated at the bottom of the hill is Keswick. As you walk or drive the 2 miles into the historic market town, from the top of Chestnut Hill there are magnificent views over Derwentwater, with the fells and mountains beyond. Situated in the pedestrianised market square is the local tourist information centre. Located in the iconic Moot Hall building.
St John’s in the Vale Church
This isolated church is located 1.5 miles from the campsite in a low pass between High Rigg on the southern side and Low Rigg to the north accessible by footpath from the site.
The earliest reference to this church dates back to 1554 and is well worth a visit. A warm atmosphere welcomes visitors and is conducive to peace and reflection.
